**Our Bestselling Monastery Product- Imported Directly from Ireland!**

A new and quite unique selection of chocolates, designed to unite the great tradition of monastic liqueurs with the modern chocolateer’s skills. Seven monastic liqueurs from throughout Europe are used to flavour dark, white and milk chocolate truffles. These include the well-known Bénedictine liqueur, the very special Chartreuse, made from a secret formula, a mandarine flavoured liqueur from the ancient monastic island of Lérins, and Glenstal’s own, made from lemon verbena and other plants and herbs grown at Glenstal Abbey. Other truffles derived from favourite desserts are included in the 12-chocolate box. Specially suited to the after-dinner occasion, they are a delicious reminder that, in origin, monastic liqueurs were intended to be drunk in small quantities as an aid to digestion.

The symbol on the packaging of a horse with a processional flabella is taken from a capital in Glenstal Abbey’s library, a design derived from a decorative motif in a medieval monastery. The background image is a twelfth-century style Hiberno-Romanesque doorway to one of the main rooms.

Glenstal Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in County Limerick on the south-west coast of Ireland. A 500 acre estate with streams, lakes and woodland paths, surrounds a castle built in the romantic Norman style. The Abbey, which is dedicated to Saints Joseph and Columba, is home to a community of monks. Their prayer and liturgical celebration combine with managing a boarding school for boys, a farm, and a guest house. The monks assemble in Church five times a day for the Divine Office and the Mass. Benedictine worship emphasises beauty and harmony, celebrating God's presence, while it evokes a response of loving reverence in the monk.
